![]() ![]() Under Solutions on the left-hand navigation menu, go to Content SearchĬreate a new search, specify to search in All Exchange mailboxes (or specific users), enter your search criteria (address the bad email was sent from, keywords in the subject of the bad email, date range, etc. If you have not registered the gateway to Azure, you will be guided to do that at this time. On Windows Server, Windows Admin Center is installed as a network service. If you need to delete an email sent to many users in your organization (whether by accident or if everyone was spammed with malicious emails), do the following: Go to Windows Admin Center Settings > Access and use the toggle switch to turn on 'Use Azure Active Directory to add a layer of security to the gateway'. HardDelete purges are scary, so be sure your content search has selected what you want and ONLY what you want! I'm not responsible if you nuke your entire org's email. ![]() I've only tested it in my org, which is Exchange Online, no on-prem servers. NOTE: This requires various admin rights (obviously) and O365 subscriptions that I'm honestly not sure of offhand. It's saved me from having to reply to a bunch of "IS THIS LEGIT? I OPENED THE ATTACHMENT ALREADY BUT JUST WANTED TO CHECK" emails a time or two when our org gets bombarded with a new spam/phishing campaign. It's been a quiet morning at the office, so I thought I'd share this little guide I wrote up a while back with the group in case any new O365 admins don't know about it yet. ![]()
